Welcome
I made this Page with Basotho in mind. It is only in its infancy. I will keep updating and changing it until it satisfies all the ideas I have for this page. I hope to make this a place where people can:
- Discuss Anything, by anybody
- Meet new people
- Have Groups for people in different regions
I would like to make this page a forum. I want people to be able to come here to post comments/information/events, and be able to meet Basotho from all around the world. It will only start as a small page for Basotho but I can envision it growing and getting popular, as the Basotho network becomes bigger and stronger. A place on the net for all Basotho and friends.
About Lesotho
Lesotho is a small mountainous country that is completely surrounded by South Africa. It is the only country in the world completely landlocked by another country(unless you consider the vatican a country). Lesotho has a population of about 2.4 million people. It has been an independent country since 1966 and remains so today. I do not see that changing in the foreseeable future unless the old powers that be decided that colonialism is once again the name of the game.
Maseru
This is the capital city of the country. It has a population of about half a million people. That is almost a quarter of the entire population of the country. A vibrant city that is beautiful in its own terms.
Basotho
The most friendly people that I know. I am yet to meet a group of people
that are more friendlier than Basotho. I mean, they can be annoying at times,
but for the average Mosotho, you will find that they are friendly. Some
Basotho may come off as not being friendly, but when you really dig deep,
you will find that they are just like the everyday Mosotho that you come
across; laid-back, happy, good to be around, friendly.
I have been working on some things but this is the earliest stage for my beloved future forum for Basotho, and friends.
